This is an old toy produced in mid 1990’s so the batteries need to be replaced in order for it to say the phrases. The factory installed 3 AA batteries inside, and these batteries are too old by now. When unscrewing the battery compartment to replace the batteries you have to carefully use the RIGHT screw driver in order not to damage the small old screws. We will not be responsible for screws erosion because you did not know how to carefully unscrew these small sensitive screws. From our experience, we have opened, replaced batteries and tested more than 3 similar Space Explorer toys and they worked fine. Has stickers on the spaceship and inside the Cockpit which might be dry so they might be peeled off. Might have some dirt or dust on spaceship around the upper buttons because of the opening in the box for the Try-me feature. Box have lots of storage or shelve-wear, dents, tears.
