Charges up in bright light or sunlight. Rechargeable cell appears to be good still but will not guarantee cell life / functionality. These watches must be exposed to bright light for an extended period to fully charge. Watch has been tested and when exposed to bright light it started running about 30 seconds later. We have not attempted to fully charge this watch. If watch does not continue running when not exposed to bright light, the cell may need to be replaced or reset. The watch is in excellent physical condition. There is a lot of information online about Citizen Eco-Drive watches and their functioning. There is also a way to factory reset them if they are dead too long and the second hand jumps every 2 seconds instead of running smoothly.
