A unique collection of vintage Disney cast member items including a rare 20 year anniversary ring, a 20 year service stick pin, and another vintage Mickey Mouse stick pin. We believe that these were owned by the same employee, who would have been presented the 20 year awards in 1978. The front of the ring reads 1958 for the year they were hired and is also inscribed with the exact day along with their initials: AP 11-17-58. The front also features the older version of Mickey Mouse, where his tail is longer and his hand overlaps his ear. The inside of the band is also marked 10k Jostens. The inside diameter of the band is about 5/8 so it’s probably between 5-1/8 and 5-1/4 in size. The 20 year service award pin is a difficult to find Mickey Mouse design with blue and white enamel. It is marked simply Jostens and measures 5/8″ in diameter or about 2-1/4″ long with the pin. The other cravat pin is a very smart little Mickey Mouse with a spiral border marked Walt Disney Prods. On the back side. It measures 9/16″ or 2-5/8″ with the pin. All three items are in very good preowned condition with few minor signs of age or use. Some very light surface marks or tarnishing. The ring seems to have been worn very little with few normal light surface marks. A fantastic group of Disney collectibles with a unique history. A fine addition to any collection. Veronica Poblano Nastacio is the daughter of the famous Zuni artist Leo Poblano and she is proud of her tradition. She creates the finest quality Zuni jewelry and points to the heaviness and thickness of her work compared with flimsy similar products. This is a wonderful full figure Mickey Mouse ring in size 7.5 and it includes stones she hand cut and buffed and set, which she selected for their fine quality and carved in a three dimensional manner. She used all natural shells and stones including yellow lip shell as well as coral and turquoise and jet and mother of pearl. I met with her personally and we discussed her relationship to the Disney products because it is commonly said she is the only person to have a contract with Disney to produce their work. She said the she did go there and she was offered a contract but because it included a demand for large quantities, she declined. It is likely in my opinion she is the only one who was offered the Disney contract. This is a fabulous example of the quality of her work. The ring size is 7.5 and the face size is 2″ Long and 1″ Wide. The beautiful stones are all natural and hand cut and carved in a three dimensional manner. The weight is 15.9grams. It is signed with her married name of Veronica Nastacio and signed Zuni and also 75 for 1975. Veronica is surely the best artist to have ever created the Disney characters and this Mickey is very realistic in his proud stance. I have one other example of her work, which I bought from her personally and it was the last one she had. That one cost me so much, I’m keeping it for now.
