Made by Chad Valley England just before the outbreak of the Second World War circa 1939. Not to be confused with the later edition in 1948. The main frame of Donald is Plywood with paper artwork attached. The front wheel is tinplate back wheels wood. The main holding and mechanism is metal. It does have a fair amount of wear. Fading to colour with some missing to the outside edge. The artwork has some staining and the metal parts have rust on the surface But it still retains its charm and appeal. The joints are pinned with metal studs. Measures 6″ long 7″ high. I have tested and working beautifully. Has printed on both sides by Permission Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Ltd. Amazing survivor 85 years old if only Donald could talk and tell us about his history. Must have for the Disney collector. The Chad Valley Collector.
