RARE 1950s J CHEIN & CO MICKEY MOUSE DISNEY FERRIS WHEEL WIND UP TIN LITHOGRAPH. Here we have a rare find–classic mechanical ferris wheel by J. Chein & Co from the 1950s. All tin lithograph construction with a long running spring wound motor. The six-spoke Ferris wheel features most of the Disney characters that were popular during the mid-1950’s. All six swinging cars are identical featuring children having a great time. A large Mickey portrait replaced the winking smiling face hub found on the famous Chein Hercules Ferris wheel toys. Structurally the Disneyland and Smiling Face Hercules Ferris wheels are identical. The toy revolves for a fairly long time with just one winding. As it turns a rotating red, white, and blue disk on the front above Mickey’s portrait strikes an adjacent bell. It’s in great working order as it, and all my tin toys up for sale, have been gone over by a professional tin toy doctor so it is coming to you in 100% working condition. This toy shows a small amount of rust and only some minor scratches near the ends on the base. The rest of this toy is in near mint condition. Measures 16 1/2 x 12 x 5 inches. MICKEY MOUSE METEOR TRAIN SET IN OVERALL VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH MINOR COSMETIC AND/OR CONSTRUCTION DISTRACTIONS WITH ONE CAVEAT: THE COAL CAR HAS RUST PITTING TO AN AREA ON TOP OF THE SAME. THE SET WAS MANUFACTURED BY MARX TOYS. THE TRAIN IS MADE OUT OF TIN AND ADORNED WITH WONDERFUL MICKEY MOUSE AND FRIENDS LITHO GRAPHICS. THE TRAIN’S 5-CAR SET MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 42 LONG. THIS IS THE 2ND VERSION OF THE SET WHICH CONSISTED OF 5 PIECES. THE ORIGINAL SET CONTAINED 4 CARS. DISNEY DECIDED THAT BY ADDING THE 5TH PIECE(BOX CAR) WOULD HELP INCREASE SALES. THE 5 CAR SET IS MUCH SCARCER THAN THE 4 CAR AS IT WAS OFFERED IN LIMITED SUPPLY COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL 4 CAR SET. THE TRAIN IS IN EXCELLENT RUNNING CONDITION ALONG WITH THE LOCOMOTIVE BELL RINGING FEATURE. THE VINTAGE TRACK INCLUDED CONSISTS OF 10 SECTIONS OF THE 3 RAIL TRACK VERSION. The first is the engine on 1 side you visit Donald & his 3 nephews; the other side has Mickey/Minnie & their kids along with Goofy hanging out on top. The second car is a coal tender. On both sides it reads WALT DISNEY’S MICKEY MOUSE METEOR with 1 side having a picture of Mickey & on the other side a picture of Donald. On top a picture of 1 of the 7 dwarfs. The inside is yellow and the outside is blue. On 1 side there is pictures of Jiminy Cricket, Pluto and Thumper & on the other side there are pictures of 4 o the seven Dwarfs. The fourth car is is a box car with slide-open green doors on each side of the same. On 1 side it reads Copyrighted Walt Disney Productions with a pictures of Joe Carioca and Dumbo. The other side of the car has the identification #1476 along with pictures of Figaro, Fiddler Pig and Practical Pig. The top of the car has pictures of Minnie Mouse hanging a fish over the side teasing Figaro the cat along with Fifer Pig. The fifth car is the caboose. On 1 side it reads Copyrighted Walt Disney Productions with a picture of 2 bears, one is on a unicycle & thew other with a girl watching him. Mint 1950’s Disney/Mickey Mouse Ferris Wheel Vintage tin wind up toy by J. Classic mechanical ferris wheel by J. Chein & Co from the 1950s. This is tin and lithograph construction with a long running spring wound motor. This was found as a store display that had never seen play wear. There is NO RUST AT ALL as seen on most of these toys. The only marks are some scratches at the base on the one side (see pic) It was dusty but I cleaned it up the best I could. It is basically a N. If you want the best, here it is. The ferris wheel has images of most of the Disney characters that were popular during the mid-1950’s featuring Mickey, Donald, and Pluto. Size measures 16 1/2 x 12 x 5 inches.
